Google to start owning hardware business, completes Motorola Mobility

As per latest news, Google has finally completed the acquisition process of Motorola Mobility Inc., the major arm of Motorola that produces Smartphones, tablets, bluetooth accessories and various other products for reportedly US$ 12.5 billion. This has been an big unusual acquisition for google because it is has never forayed so large in hardware producer market, generally it has forayed into software or online services market. Although this was obvious after Google fully acquired open source platform OS Android in 2005. Android was initially built from C, C++ and Java programming languages. With acquisition of Motorola Mobility, it will appease and further stronghold android based smartphone market. I am not sure whether this hand-over includes transfer of copyrights of various Motorola patents which is one large asset of Motorola. Also current CEO Sanjay Jha will step down once all legal formalities and nod from US and Canada government have been obtained.
